此版本还修复了部分已成功在 Proton 上运行的游戏所遇到的问题，包括 GTA V、最终幻想 IV、荒野大镖客 2、铁拳 7 和许多其他游戏。用于 Vulkan 上的 Direct3D 9/10/11 的 DXVK 快照也进行了修订。
Proton 是一套让原先在 Windows 上运行的游戏可以在以 Linux 为基础的操作系统上执行的兼容层。Proton 由 Valve 与 CodeWeavers 根据合约合作开发。它以 Wine 其中一个分支为基础，并包含许多补丁与库以改善性能以及与 Windows 游戏的兼容性。Proton 以 “Steam Play” 之名集成到了 Steam 客户端。
作为 Wine 的分支，Proton 与其上游版本保持了对多数 Windows 应用程序非常相似的兼容性。除了官方白名单以外，也有许多其他 Windows 游戏被回报为可兼容，虽然官方并未正式公告支持。用户可以选择为特定游戏强制使用 Proton，即便其已有原生 Linux 版本也可以。
